The Department of Planning and Community and Economic Development annually provides planning services to a designated area of the City. The Northport-Warner Park-Sherman Neighborhood (based on Census Tracts 23.01 and 24.02) will be receiving planning assistance in 2008. This northside area was selected by the CDBG Commission, and confirmed by resolution by the Common Council, based upon:
- A higher percentage of low- and moderate-income households residing in the area than the City as a whole; and
- The willingness on the part of residents from Berkely Oaks, East Bluff, Kennedy Heights, Lakeview Hill, Mendota Hills, Vera Court and Whitetail Ridge neighborhoods to develop a neighborhood plan.
