Profile, Statistics and Indicators
Neighborhood Description: The Sprecher East Neighborhood is located on Madison's far east side and includes the neighbors in the Door Creek and Reston Heights subdivision. The purpose of the neighborhood association is to represent the neighborhood's interests to government officials/staff and provide a social outlet for the neighbors. Sprecher East is located adjacent to one of the newest parks and wildlife preserves: Door Creek Park and Nature Preserve. Door Creek Park is a 115-acre community park. The Master Plan for the park includes athletic fields, playgrounds, picnic areas and shelters, tennis and basketball courts, shore fishing, winter ice skating and ski trails, winter and summer trails both linking to Dane County's regional trail system.
Neighborhood Boundaries: Milwaukee Street on the north to Wyalusing Drive south to Reston Heights Drive, east to East Hill Parkway with the addition of lots 207 and 208 on Littlemore/Dulles, east to the Door Creek stream, west on Bluff Point Drive including all lots on Bluff Point Drive and lots 128 and 129 on Wyalusing Drive to Sprecher Road, north to Milwaukee Street
Neighborhood Statistics Indicators: The Neighborhood Indicators Project is a demonstration of key characteristics and various indicators that relate to the quality of life in Madison at the neighborhood level. Basic neighborhood information as well as housing, public safety, health and family well-being, economic, and transportation indicators by neighborhood is available.
Recent Accomplishments: -City of Madison Parks Division received a grant award for $37,000 from the Fighting Obesity Through Play Grant (GameTime) to enhance the playground at Door Creek Park (2008).

-Received City of Madison Planning Grant to boost membership in its newly forming neighborhood association (2006).
