2015 Madison Police Shift Change

Madison Police Department Shift Change

As many of you are aware, each year, MPD commissioned staff goes through an assignment change process. The Chief evaluates the ranks of Assistant Chief, Captain and Lieutenant with any new changes take effect at the beginning of the New Year. 2015 marks my fifth year as Captain of the Central District. I will have three new Lieutenants for this year.

Lieutenant Dave McCaw will be in charge of Investigations. He will oversee case assignments and work load for detectives.

Lieutenant Jen Krueger Favour will be in charge of Central District event planning, Community Policing Team, and Neighborhood Officers.

Lieutenant Amy Schwartz will be in charge of Patrol Services, which covers the five working shifts of patrol officers in the Central District.

Additionally, the ranks of Sergeant and Officer take part in a yearly shift pick with changes taking effect in early February. Every year there is about a 20% change in staffing as officers move to new assignment choices.

Visit the MPD web site to find additional information on our Neighborhood Officers and Community Policing Team. (https://www.cityofmadison.com/police/central/)

You will begin to see new or familiar faces at neighborhood meetings and events. Please reach out to our officers and share with them your experiences in living and working in the Central District. Together we can build partnerships in making the Central District a safe and entertaining place to visit or call home.

Best Regards,

Captain Carl Gloede
