If you’re interested in adding a DJ, band, or karaoke to your event, you’ll need a P.A. Permit. A minimum 10-day notice is required. PA Permits have a 4-hour limit and may not exceed 9:00pm (8:00 in Warner Park). Please direct all amplification equipment AWAY from residential areas. Amplification is not allowed in the following parks:
Tents, gazebos and other structures can make a beautiful addition to any wedding or social gathering. A Temporary Structure Permit must be obtained to place structures which require a stake to penetrate the ground to support it. In order to place anything in the park such as portable toilets, concession stands, tents, etc., you must first receive permission from the Parks Division. Interested parties can begin the registration process by contacting the Madison Parks office at (608) 266-4711 and filling out an application and return the application with payment.
Secondly, call Digger’s Hotline (1-800-242-8511) 5-14 business days before the event. You will then be assigned a ticket number for each location to be excavated. Call or fax the ticket number to Madison Parks Staff at least five days prior to your event. Proof of insurance is also required.
Alcohol-Free parks are Brittingham, Demetral, James Madison, Reindahl, Lake Edge, Olbrich, OB Sherry, and Tenney Parks. You must have an alcohol permit in order to have alcohol at your event. The alcohol must be contained within the shelter and is allowed only in conjunction with a reservation and the permit. NO Glass containers are allowed.
