Special Use Permits

The following additional permits are available to purchase at least 10 business days in advance, with a shelter or athletic reservation.

Alcohol

Most parks allow alcohol in a non-breakable container.  By ordinance and policy, the following parks are alcohol-free and require an alcohol permit with an advanced shelter or athletic reservation. See Madison General Ordinance 8.24 and the Board of Park Commissioners policy for a full list of parks and details.

Amplified Sound

If your reservation will have amplified sound, you will need to purchase a P.A. Permit at least 10 business days in advance or at the time of making your online reservation. PA Permits have a 6-hour limit and must end by 9:00 pm. Sound Limit: 75 dB, 150 ft. from the source. Compliance may be monitored by the park rangers.

Cost: $60 per reservation

Temporary Structure

Temporary structures, such as tents, staging, trailers, inflatables, promotional equipment, or similar structures, will only be allowed in a park with a shelter reservation and a Temporary Structure Permit. Please apply at least 10 business days prior to your event. You must call the Digger's Hotline and complete the permit application. Dunk tanks, sprinklers or other water features are not allowed.

Cost: $110 per reservation
