Accessibility

All parks with reservable shelters that have OFF-street parking have the correct number of accessible parking stalls for the size of the parking lot. All of the shelters are serviced with accessible paths leading from the parking lot to the shelter and restrooms. If the reservable park/shelter only has ON-street parking, it will have an accessible path leading from the public sidewalk to the shelter and restroom.

All park restrooms are accessible according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). However, the masonry or concrete walls in some of the older park shelters were prohibitive of renovation. Where possible and economically feasible, the restrooms have been altered to accommodate wheelchair-bound patrons. When a restroom is built new, the restrooms ARE accessible and the stalls are wide enough.

Shelters with best shelter and restroom accessibility are: Olin Park, Elver Park (new), Warner Park.

Park Staff highly recommends that before reserving a shelter, that you be sure to visit it in advance.
