University Avenue Construction Survival Meeting

posted

Unless you've recently moved to the neighborhood, you're probably well aware of the impending reconstruction of University Avenue from Seoge Road to Allen Blvd. A contractor has been selected and work will start the week of March 26 and continue until late fall.

The contractor and city staff will be holding a meeting to go over the construction plans and answer your questions about schedule, traffic management, project phasing, alternate routes and access to homes, businesses and side streets.

THURSDAY, MARCH 1
6:00 PM
ASBURY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
6101 UNIVERSITY AVENUE

Additional meetings will be ongoing throughout the project about twice per month. These meetings are primarily targeted to businesses along the route, but anyone is welcome. More information on these meetings and other aspects of the project will be posted on the project Web site as it becomes available:

It is going to be a challenging year on and near University Avenue. The results will be worth it, but during construction we will all need to be patient, use alternate routes and modes where possible, and also support our neighborhood businesses that will struggle through it.

Thank you in advance and I hope to see you on Thursday.
