The week of February 11 has items of possible interest to residents of district 2 at the Finance Committee; the Landmarks Commission; the Habitat Stewardship Committee; the Ad Hoc Landmarks Ordinance Review Committee; the Urban Design Commission; the Board of Park Commissioners and the Madison Police Department Policy & Procedure Review Ad Hoc Committee. The city meeting agenda items are open for testimony from the public should you be interested in weighing in.  I also appreciate hearing from you on any items on which you have a particular interest or concern so please send me an email or give me a call.

Also, committees and commissions have an opportunity at the beginning of each agenda for Public Comment on items not on the agenda.  If you have something you want to share with a committee or commission, you can use the Public Comment time to do so.

SUBSITUTE: Amending the 2019 Adopted Operating Budget to transfer $275,250 from the Contingent Reserve to the Community Development Division to help pay for family support services at the Tree Lane Apartments, and authorizing non-competitive service contracts with the Road Home Dane County for case management services, and Lussier Community Education Center and Wisconsin Youth Company - Elver Park Neighborhood Center for youth programming for a period of time ending with the conclusion of request for proposals processes undertaken to select providers for those services, but not beyond December 31, 2019.

Superintendent's February 2019 Report
RECOMMEND ACCEPTANCE OF THE REPORT

Includes:

 Future Commission Items

• Urban Forestry Taskforce – The Urban Forestry Taskforce is likely to have a completed report with recommendations in early 2019.

• IPM Taskforce – The IPM taskforce has begun meeting and will have recommendations for consideration in 2019.

• Dog Policy – The Long Range Planning Subcommittee will be working on reviewing dogs in parks policy during the first part of 2019. Staff is hopeful that any policy changes will be brought to the Commission in the first half of the year.

• Off-Leash Dog Parks – Staff is working to determine potential off-leash improvements in the priority areas of the West side, Atwood/East Isthmus, and Far East/Grandview. The Approved Master Plan for North Star Park will address the deficiency in Grandview. Staff are working on concepts for the other two priority areas and anticipate moving forward with engagement processes in 2019.

• Capital and Operating Budgets – Parks staff will be working with President Leopold to discuss how to best present and take input from the Commission on the Division’s budgets.
