D6 Items of Interest Week of July 25, 2016

July 23, 2016 7:40 PM

Highlights this week:

Garver is at Bd of Estimates and UDC. The Baum team is requesting that they be allowed to close the sale and related lease agreements on March 15, 2017 instead of Dec 1, 2016 as previously proposed and approved because the federal goverment has delayed the announcement of New Market Tax Credit allocations until November 2016. NMTC are a key source of funding for the project. The staff report outlines the risks of delay. I will be supporting the extension based on available information. BoE may go into closed session.

The resolution to purchase the portion of Central Park now currently in private hands is exciting news. The city has been negotiating with the property owner and working with the WISDOT to use Sen. Baldwin's earmark for land acquistion. The acquistion will be reviewed by BoE and Ped Bike Motor Vehicle Commission this week.

The city has selected an architecture/engineering firm to assist with planning and designing the Cap East parking structure. There is also an update on negotiations with Otto Gebhardt and MGE regarding 800 blk south E Washington at BoE that may go into closed session.
