Madison Parks - Outdoor Ice Rinks Update-Dec. 8

posted

Vilas Park and Tenney Park ice rinks to open Friday, Dec. 8, 2006 Sharpen those skates and put on your warm clothes! It’s time to ice skate! But, be prepared, due to the predicted warm weather this weekend, the rinks will only be open for a few days while the ice is safe. When the weather turns cold again and the ice is safe, rinks will be re-opened. As is normally the case for outdoor ice rinks, the schedule varies day to day due to weather, and safe ice conditions. The Madison Parks Staff will update the website, www.cityofmadison.com/parks and phone message (Parks Office 266-4711) when conditions change. Friday, December 08, 2006 Vilas Park and Tenney Park ice rinks will be open from 5:00p.m. – 9:30p.m. The ice rinks may close earlier than the stated times if the ice conditions deteriorate and/or lack of skater participation. Saturday, December 09, 2006 Tenney Park ice rink will be open from 11:00a.m. – 9:30p.m. Vilas Park ice rink will be open from noon – 9:30p.m. (Jingle Bell Run will be held in Vilas Park and the park shelter earlier that morning.) The ice rinks may close earlier than the stated times if the ice conditions deteriorate and/or lack of skater participation. Sunday, December 10, 2006 Due to the predicted warm weather, these hours are TBA. HOCKEY PLAYERS - VERY IMPORTANT: None of the rinks have hockey boards up yet. More time and cold weather is necessary to have the boards properly and safely set in the ice. Skate Rental Prices for Elver, Tenney and Vilas Parks: Adults/1st hour $6.00 Children 14 and under $3.00 Additional Hours $2.00 For continued updates: go to www.cityofmadison.com/parks
