MFD, DOT Promote Halloween Safety for Trick-or-Treaters

The City of Madison Fire Department is partnering with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to help trick-or-treaters stay safe on their rounds Halloween night. The DOT is providing 1800 flashing reflector lights to help children be more visible to drivers. The lights will be distributed at seven Madison fire stations Saturday morning, October 27 between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. The stations are: #3 - 1217 Williamson St. #5 - 4418 Cottage Grove Road #6 - 825 West Badger Road #7 - 1810 McKenna Blvd. #8 - 3945 Lien Road #9 - 201 N. Midvale Blvd. #10 - 1517 Troy Drive The supply of lights is limited. Quantities will be limited to one light per child, and the child receiving the light must be present. Representatives from the MFD and DOT will be delivering the lights to Station #7, 1810 McKenna Blvd. at 10:00 a.m. Friday morning, October 26, and will be available to describe the program and its intent in more detail.
