Madison to be presented with best-tasting water award

posted

Madison, WI - September 3rd, 2013 - The Wisconsin Water Association will present the City of Madison and Madison Water Utility with an award at tonight's Common Council meeting recognizing our win in this year's Best-Tasting Water in Wisconsin competition. On-hand to accept the award on behalf of all Madison Water Utility employees will be our AFSCME Local 60 stewards Rick Marx and Don Smith. At this year's State Fair, Madison competed in a taste-test against more than a dozen other Wisconsin municipalities and came away with a blue ribbon for our city's water. The first-place win qualifies us to compete in the North American competition and vie for the national title at the AWWA Annual Conference and Expo (ACE) 2014 next spring in Boston. At tonight's Common Council Meeting, Madison will be presented with a plaque and banner, which will hang in first at our Paterson St. operations facility and then at our Olin St. office building. The win showcases the dedicated work of Madison's drinking water professionals to provide safe, high quality drinking water 24-hours-a-day.
