Firefighters To Train In Donated Homes

posted

On Thursday, January 30th, City of Madison Firefighters will have the opportunity to perform live training exercises in several houses.  Four homes, donated by the Gallina Corporation, are valuable training tools for the department.

The homes located on the 100 blk of S. Mills and 1020 Mound Street, will give fire crews a more realistic opportunity to practice firefighting skills, such as advancing hose lines, search and rescue, breaching walls and cutting holes in the roofs.

Firefighters will be challenged while performing in the elements during their training exercises.

Training Officers will be available for interviews on Thursday, January 30th between 1:30 pm and 4:00 pm. Please contact Bernadette Galvez at 279-7168, to set up an interview with one of Officers.
