Madison Parks Winter Clothing Drive

posted

February 14 – 23, 2014

Take HEART this Valentine’s Day and help those in need!!  Madison Parks is teaming up with the Community Action Coalition for South Central Wisconsin, Inc. (CAC) to provide warm winter clothing for those in need this winter. We want your used winter coats, jackets, snow-pants, boots and gloves! Drop them off at any one of our Parks facilities:

  • John Wall Family Pavilion at Tenney Park, 402 N. Thornton Ave.
  • Vilas Park, 1602 Vilas Park Drive
  • Elver Park, 1250 McKenna Blvd
  • Odana Hills Golf Course 4635 Odana Rd.
  • Warner Park Community Recreation Center, 1625 Northport Dr.

The CAC was created in 1966 to bring our community together to help defeat poverty in the area. The coalition engages with a number of associations to improve their understanding of those that need help in our communities. By bringing awareness to the issue, the coalition works to better the lives of those in need. This is the fourth winter Madison Parks has teamed up with CAC. Thanks to the generous donations of our park patrons, we have been able to help keep hundreds of people warm as they enjoy the winter recreational activities.

If your children are outgrowing their winter clothes this season, donate by February 23rd and the clothes can be distributed throughout the remainder of this winter, and into next winter as well! It’s never too early to start preparing for the next cold season.

Help us make sure that everyone has warm winter clothing to be able to get outside and enjoy the winter fun!
