Madison Parks Foundation receives $50,000 grant for Splash Park Project

The Madison Parks Foundation has been awarded $50,000 grant from Madison Community Foundation for its ongoing Splash Park Project.
This contribution is the latest from MCF, which already contributed a grant of $50,000 for Reindahl Splash Park in April 2013. In the year since MPF received its first grant, the Splash Park Project expanded to include a second location in Elver Park, a decision that successfully reduced costs for the overall project.
The two splash parks are set to break ground this year with the goal of opening before the end of 2014. Both parks will feature 2,200 square feet of space and will be constructed with environmental efficiency in mind, using low flow features and a recirculating water system to effectively conserve and reuse water.
“Elver Park Splash Park is the fifth splash park Madison Community Foundation has funded in the Madison area,” said Tom Linfield, Madison Community Foundation Vice President of Community Impact. “These colorful, imaginative and free water playgrounds provide an economical compliment to Madison’s beaches and pools, and safe and fully accessible spaces that can be enjoyed by all generations and abilities. What a great way for families to beat the summer heat and have fun!”
The Madison Parks Foundation has also received several other contributions for the project, including a $50,000 grant from the Evjue Foundation, a $50,000 grant from the Oscar Rennebohm Foundation and $10,000 from American Family Insurance.
