Madison Parks is pleased to announce the grand opening of Madison’s newest splash parks at Elver Park and Reindahl Park.  Madison Parks will host a Grand Opening ribbon-cutting at Reindahl Park, 1818 Portage Road on Friday, August 8 at 11:00 a.m. Leading the Grand Opening are Mayor Paul Soglin, Alder Joe Clausius, members of the Madison Parks Foundation board and representatives from lead donors.

The Elver Park Splash Park will open to the public on Wednesday, August 13.

“I am delighted that the Parks Division, the Madison Parks Foundation and its donors, Alders Clausius and Subeck have been able to work together to complete these projects,” said Madison Mayor Paul Soglin.  “These splash parks are welcome additions to Reindahl and Elver Parks and will provide a fun and safe activity for children and families.”

The splash parks at both locations will feature interactive water attractions with spray toys and fountains for children of all ages.  More than 15,000 park-goers will annually enjoy the new recreational facilities.  These two new splash parks join the Cypress Spray Park and will have free admission and will offer a complement to the Goodman Pool and Madison Beaches for summer aquatics recreational opportunities for children.

The splash parks were built thanks to generous support from the Madison Community Foundation, Oscar Rennebohm Foundation, Evjue Foundation, American Family Mutual Insurance Company, as well as other businesses and individuals.

“The Madison Parks Foundation is pleased to be a part of this community enhancing project,” said Grant Frautschi, Madison Parks Foundation Board President. “These free, family-focused amenities will have a significant positive impact on the neighborhoods and residents they serve.”
