Madison, WI – August 29, 2023 – Join Madison’s downtown alders for an engaging event where you have the opportunity to get to know the people who represent your community and have a say in local decisions. This in-person event will take place in the heart of downtown at the Central Madison Public Library, located at 201 West Mifflin Street. The meet and greet will take place in the beautiful and spacious Madison Room on the library’s third floor. It is a great opportunity to ask questions, share your concerns, and connect with fellow community members.

The Downtown Alders, which include Alder Juliana Bennett of District 2, Alder Michael Verveer of District 4, Alder Marsha Rummel of District 6, and Alder MGR Govindarajan of District 8, look forward to connecting with constituents one on one. "I'm excited to be able to meet and have conversations with downtown residents about the issues that matter to them! It'll be an engaging opportunity to work together to improve downtown, and the city," says Alder MGR Govindarajan.

Attendees will have the opportunity to weigh in on the Brayton Lot Redevelopment by taking a brief survey. Additionally, here is a list of issues affecting downtown constituents you may want to discuss with your alder.
  • Capital Budget
  • Metro Network Redesign and BRT Changes
  • Affordable Housing and Development
  • Brayton Lot Redevelopment
Do not miss this chance to make your voice heard and be a part of shaping the downtown area. “We downtown alders are excited to have the opportunity to meet residents in a relaxed setting to connect about issues important to downtown and the city. We look forward to listening and learning from your experiences and how we can best serve you!” says Alder Juliana Bennett.
