No Refuse or Recycling Collection on Monday January 21st due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday

posted

There will be no refuse or recycling collection on Monday January 21st because of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Residents who normally have their refuse and recycling collected on Monday will have their material collected on Tuesday January 22nd. On Tuesday January 22nd the Streets Division will be collecting refuse from residents in both the Monday and Tuesday refuse collection districts. It is important that residents have their material out on time, which is 6:00 a.m. on the East side and 7:00 a.m. on the West side. Because of the short collection week, large item service will be reduced the week of January 21st. Residents are asked to hold their large items until the week of January 28th if possible. "Madison's new collection calendar for refuse and recycling will go into effect this week," recycling coordinator George Dreckmann said. "Residents should be sure to check their new calendars as there are 3,000 households who will have new refuse and recycling collection days." The new collection calendars and additional information on all of Madison's solid waste and recycling services are available on the Streets Division's web site at www.cityofmadison.com/streets or by calling 246-4532 (East) and 266-4681(West).
