No Refuse or Recycling Collection on December 25th or January 1st

posted

There will be no refuse or recycling collection in the City of Madison on Thursday December 25th or Thursday January 1st because of the Christmas and New Years holidays. If your material is normally collected on Thursday it will be collected on Friday December 26th and Friday January 2nd. Residents should be sure to get their material out to the curb on time as Street Division crews will be collecting in both the Thursday and Friday refuse districts on December 26th and January 2nd. East side residents should have their material out at the curb by 6 a.m. and west side residents by 7 a.m. Because of the double collection, large item collection will be reduced. Residents are asked to hold on to large items until after the holidays if possible. There will be regular refuse and recycling collection on both Christmas Eve, December 24th and New Year's Eve December 31st. Since crews only work a half-day on the 24th and 31st, make sure you have your material out on time. The Streets Division's offices and drop off sites will also be closed on December 25th and January 1st. For additional information visit the Streets Division's web page at www.cityofmadison.com/streets. Please Shovel Out Fire Hydrants Madison residents are asked to help out the Fire Department by shoveling out the fire hydrants. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated and helps make your neighborhood safer.
