Snow Removal To Cause Traffic Delays

Operations Set for Wednesday and Thursday More Possible for Friday

The Streets Division will be conducting snow removal operations on several streets this week. Snow removal operations will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and continue as late as 2 p.m. These operations will cause delays for traffic and motorists are urged to find alternate routes. "We need to clear snow in order to widen the traffic lanes and free up parking spaces," George Dreckmann of the Streets Division said. "This operation involves many vehicles and will tie up traffic." The snow removal schedule is as follows. Wednesday January 21st Atwood Av. from Dunning to Maple Maple from Atwood to Center N. Orchard from Dayton to Regent Erin from S. Mills to S. Orchard S. Orchard from Wingra to Drake N. Hamilton from N. Butler to N. Webster Haywood from N. Wingra to S. Park Thursday January 22nd Gorham St. from Butler to University Monroe St. from Knickerbocker to Regent Maple from Center to Oakridge Friday January 23rd E. Johnson St. from S. Blair to S. Baldwin Lakeside St. from S. Park to Gilson Drake St. from Orchard to Randall Parking is being temporarily restricted on the sections of the affected streets. Bright orange temporary "No Parking" signs have been posted. Vehicles must be moved by 7 a.m. in the areas where snow removal will take place. Violators will be ticketed and towed.
