Restrictions Announced For Friday Night Celebration

The Madison Police Department (MPD) is hoping those attending Friday's Elver Park fireworks will follow a few basic rules in order to keep the celebration safe for all. Grilling, personal fireworks, and alcohol will be prohibited at the park during the event. There will be free parking available at the park; however, vehicles will not be allowed to leave the lot for about 20 to 30 minutes after the show. At around 9:00 p.m. Friday, McKenna Boulevard will be closed to traffic between Raymond Road and Schroeder Road. The street closure will remain in effect for 20 to 30 minutes after aerial displays have ceased. Parking on many area streets will also be temporarily prohibited on July 2nd, and offending vehicles will be ticketed and towed. The MPD would like to thank citizens in advance for their cooperation and patience.
