Statement of Mayor Paul Soglin on Local Food Committee Site Recommendations

I support the recommendations the Local Food Committee has developed for a possible location for Madison’s first Public Market. I appreciate the work in which the committee members engaged as they reached a decision. Their efforts to involve the public through meetings and surveys were meaningful in providing this direction. I look forward to continuing to work with them and with our consulting team to select a site. Although this committee’s work is paving the way for our first Public Market, it is helpful to keep in mind that we are not limited to just one market in the future.
