Upcoming Detour Projects

The following detour projects are expected in the coming weeks and months. Please watch for more detailed information to be posted as soon as available. Capitol Square Bus Shelters: Demolition of the bus shelters around the Capitol Square and replacement with new shelters or benches will occur during the Summer of 2007. This may require bus detours or stop closures. Erin Street: Reconstruction of Erin Street between Mills and Park by Saint Mary's Hospital will occur during the Summer of 2007. This may require bus detours or stop closures. Park Street: A utility project in South Park Street during the Summer of 2007 will restrict travel lanes in the area between Fish Hatchery and Erin. This will require bus detours and stop closures. State Street: The reconstruction of State Street will continue in the Spring of 2007, this year closing traffic between Lake and Broom/Gilman. This will require bus detours. East Washington Avenue: The reconstruction of East Washington Avenue will continue in the Spring of 2007, this year restricting travel lanes and turning movements between Second Street and Highway 30 as well as closing traffic on Winnebago Street between East Washington and Fourth Street. This will require bus detours and stop closures. South Towne Drive: A reconstruction and roundabout installation on South Towne Drive during the Summer of 2007 will restrict travel lanes in the area between the Beltline Highway and Moorland. This will require bus stop relocations and a short segment of route detour around the work zone at Industrial Drive. Observatory Drive/Highland Avenue: The University's street and utility construction along Observatory Drive will continue in the Summer of 2007, this time closing traffic between Easterday Lane (Vet Med/Nat) and Walnut Street. Related construction along Highland Avenue between Forest Products Lab and the Waisman Center will restrict travel lanes. This work will require bus detours and stop closures. University Ave. A utility project will close the east half of the intersection of University Avenue at Highland Avenue in mid-May 2007. Through traffic on University Avenue will be eliminated and traffic lanes will be restricted along Highland Avenue. This work will require bus detours and stop closures.
