Make Music Madison

This Sunday is again the annual Make Music Madison event. Various places throughout the city will host bands/musical groups/musicians of all types.

Below are all the locations in District 12 that will have events this year, please check out the Make Music Madison website for more specifics about the acts that will be playing.

Walk It Out Health Fair

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Kappa Psi Omega Chapter, will hold their 8th Annual "Walk It Out" Health Fair at 9:00am, Saturday, 25 July 2015, Warner Park Community Center, 1625 Northport Drive, Madison, WI.

This is a FREE community health fair with an emphasis on physical and mental health. The event begins with a two-mile walk or a one- to three-mile run and continues with free classes in WERQ Fitness, Pilates, R U Fit, and Spinning as well as massage therapy, a mental health workshop, and healthy cooking demonstrations.

MPD Community Forum with Chief Koval

The North Police District will be hosting a Community Forum with Chief Koval on June 30, at the Vera Court Neighborhood Center, 614 Vera Court, from 6:00 to 7:30pm.   Come join us and have a discussion with the Chief or ask any questions you may have about public safety or the police department.

 

Madison's Aquifer: Is Madison's Water Supply Sustainable

Here's an interesting article from the Madison Water Utility about our water supply:

"It's not common knowledge that Madison, often called the City of Four Lakes, actually gets its drinking water from an aquifer. The vast deposit of saturated sandstone sits hundreds of feet below Madison, providing the city with more than 10 billion gallons of water every year."  Full article
