Redistricting, Odana Area Plan and Other Highlights for the Week of September 20, 2021

Redistricting

This week is a big week for local redistricting.

As a reminder, redistricting, the process of redrawing the City's wards and alder districts based on population changes that have occurred over the last decade, is happening now. Redistricting determines which communities and neighborhoods are assembled into alder districts and other voting districts. Due to large population growth between 2010 and 2020 on the west side, District 19 is expected to have its boundaries substantially changed with this redistricting. New district boundaries will take effect in November. New map concepts were released last week with updates to reflect the upcoming attachment of portions of the Town of Madison.

There will be multiple opportunities for the community to participate in the process this week!

The City's Redistricting Committee seeks your feedback on two Alder District Concepts

Join us for one of our City of Madison Redistricting Informational Meetings on Wednesday, September 22nd 12-1pm or 6-7pm on Zoom. More details: cityofmadison.com/Redistricting

If you have a question, concern, or topic of interest that you would like to discuss, but Wednesday doesn't work for you, you can e-mail me.
