Council President Sheri Carter’s Statement on the Murders of Asian Americans in Atlanta GA

My condolences go out to the victims and their families of the horrific murders in Atlanta, George on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. I stand in solidarity with our Asian American neighbors and residents in Madison, and across the country, in calling for the end to the violence and hatred they are contending with every day. Particularly since the beginning of this pandemic, Asian American communities across the United States have been targeted by hate groups and individuals who are driven by white supremacist and misogynistic beliefs.

We must all continue to stand up against hate, in any form, towards any group, in our communities.
