Wheeler Rd Waste Oil Site Closed Temporarily For Construction

The City of Madison's waste oil collection site at the intersection of Wheeler and School Roads on the northeast side is closed temporarily for construction. The project is likely to continue until at least September 1st. "People who use the site are asked to take advantage of the waste oil site located at the Madison Fleet Services Garage at the corner of First and E. Johnson Streets," Madison recycling coordinator George Dreckmann said. "Please do not leave material at the site during construction. Waste oil is an environmental hazard and must be properly disposed of. Leaving material at the site while it is closed is considered illegal dumping and is punishable by fines of up to $2,000."
