· Common Council: The Common Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 in hybrid format at 6:30 PM. Agenda items include an update of land subdivision and tourist rooming house regulations, reconsideration of a change to the zoning of properties, adoption of 2024 Common Council meeting dates, the acceptance of various grants, and more!

· Plan Commission: The Plan Commission meeting will take place on Monday, July 10, 2023 in virtual format at 5:30 PM. Agenda items include adding an exception to height and story minimum requirements, the implementation of the Greater East Towne Area Plan, various development-related requests, and more!

· Comprehensive Plan Interim Update meeting, Thursday, July 13, 2023: A virtual public meeting on the Comprehensive Plan Interim Update has been scheduled for July 13th at 6 p.m. (registration required ). Staff will provide an overview of the Interim Update and answer questions. More information about the Comprehensive Plan Interim Update can be found on here.

· Wild Rumpus: An Anji Play Experience, Monday, July 10, 2023: Enjoy child-led play at A Wild Rumpus based on the educational approach of AnjiPlay. The library will provide special play equipment to spark your children's imagination at two parks this summer. Messy clothes and a water bottle are encouraged. Bring your own picnic dinner and make an evening of it! All ages and abilities are welcome. No registration needed.

 

· NewBridge Summer Concert Series, Monday, July 10, 2023: Concert series sponsored by NewBridge Madison, at Warner Park.

· Art Cart & FIT2GO at The Glen, Tuesday, July 11, 2023: It's Art Cart and FIT2GO at The Glen! Join Madison School & Community Recreation and Madison Museum of Contemporary Art in a free, fun, fit and creative morning at The Glen Golf Park. Art Cart is a traveling art program that provides creative, outdoor art-making experiences to children ages 3+ and their families. Activities include both group and individual projects, with a variety of materials. MSCR’s FIT2GO van is a mobile source of physical activity and education that provides fitness programs throughout Madison. We encourage the whole family to stay, create and play! While you’re here, visit The Glen House for refreshments, hang out on the patio and try the always-free putting green—no experience needed and putters are available.

 

· Lakeside Kids: David Landau, Music & Laughter, Tuesday, July 11, 2023: David Landau is a former first grade teacher, an award-winning musician and entertainer, and he is very funny! David’s personal appearances are upbeat musical programs that keep children engaged and constantly thinking. The kids sing some, move some, act some, dance some, shout just a little bit, and laugh a bunch. For children ages 4 and up. FREE and Open to the Public. Rooftop Gardens, if inclement weather, program will be canceled. Weather call will be made at 8 AM.

 

· East Side Farmers' Market, Tuesday, July 11, 2023: The Eastside Farmers' Market is Madison Wisconsin’s finest weekday farmers' market. Our goal is to bring the freshest Wisconsin grown food direct to the heart of the East side. Our vendor members are agricultural producers and food artisans who make value added products from Wisconsin's agricultural bounty.

· HUD-Approved Homebuyer Education (2-Part Class)(July 11 and 18), Tuesday, July 11, 2023: Take the first step to owning a home, and join us in this Home Buyer Education Workshop. This FREE HUD Approved Homebuyer Education workshop takes place virtually (a link will be sent closer to day of class), and is split into two sessions. In order to complete the class portion towards the certificate, you must attend and complete both sessions.

· Saving Energy in Your Home, Tuesday, July 11, 2023: Understand your house as a system as we examine common sources of energy loss and how air sealing and insulation work together to improve energy efficiency and comfort. We will also discuss simple upgrades you can make that are proven cost-effective energy savers. Sponsored by MG&E. Be sure to re-confirm date and time of this workshop with agency.

· Dane County Farmers' Market - Wednesday Market, Wednesday, July 12, 2023: The Wednesday Dane County Farmers’ Market is located on the 200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, in between the Madison Municipal Building and the City County Building. While more intimate than the Saturday Market, you will still find many of your favorite Dane County Farmers’ Market members, as well as a full array of fruits and vegetables, eggs, cheeses, honey, maple syrup, bakery items, cut flowers, plants, and many specialty items.

· The Capitol View Farmers’ Market, Wednesday, July 12, 2023: The Capitol View Farmers Market is returning to the North Star Neighborhood! Join us each Wednesday (May 31-October 11, 2023) from 3:00-7:00pm to support local farmers and vendors, enjoy live music and food carts, and make the most of summer in Madison!

· Concerts on the Square, Wednesday, July 12, 2023: The Capitol Square comes alive for six consecutive Wednesdays during the summer months with music from the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra. FREE and open to the public, grab a blanket, a picnic basket, and your family and friends for this Madison tradition!

· Conservation Park Tour | Cherokee Marsh South, Wednesday, July 12, 2023: Moving downriver from the North Unit, we can observe different land uses and challenges for protecting the natural resources at this conservation park. Come and learn about efforts to maintain this habitat within the context of our modern landscape.

· Learn to Fish with WI DNR, Wednesday, July 12, 2023: Learn to Fish with Madison Parks and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources! There is no cost to attend (advanced registration is required), however, anglers ages 16 and older will need a Wisconsin fishing license, which can be purchased online at Go Wild . For first-time license buyers, the cost is just $5 for an annual permit. See license options . Wisconsin DNR's Fishmobile will be onsite with all the fishing equipment needed to participate. This event is open to adults and children and is ideal for persons aged 7 years and older. Children must be supervised by a parent or adult guardian. Participants will be asked to sign a waiver for themselves and their children, upon arrival.

· Maxwell Street Days, Thursday, July 13-Sunday, July 16, 2023: MADISON'S ORIGINAL STREET SALE SINCE 1976! ENJOY STATE STREET SHOPPING BARGAINS AND ORIGINAL FOODS - OVER 75 VENDORS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE ON THE STATE STREET.

· Fete de Marquette, Thursday, July 13 – Sunday, July 16, 2023: Madison's favorite summer festival! Music, great local food and drink, and family activities! All proceeds benefit the Wil­Mar Neighborhood Center.

· Madison Area Community Land Trust Orientation (Virtual), Thursday, July 13, 2023: Madison Area Community Land Trust is hosting an orientation event and all are welcome to attend. Attendance at an MACLT orientation meeting is a requirement for home purchase within the land trust but all who are interested in land trust housing are welcome to attend.

· Westside Alders Meet and Greet – Thursday, July 13, 2023, 6-8PM: Westside Alders are excited to announce the first Westside Alders Meet and Greet of the year, taking place Thursday, July 13, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Meadowood Neighborhood Center in their Multi-Purpose Room, 5740 Raymond Rd., Madison, WI 53711. In an effort to speak directly to residents, Westside alders hope to harness the power of engagement to create positive change for the Westside of Madison. This Meet and Greet is Free and OPEN to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.

· Capitol City Band Concerts in the Park, Thursday, July 13, 2023: Old fashioned band concerts in the park, "as American as apple pie." Familiar toe-tapping tunes, songs, polkas, broadway tunes and the marches of John Philip SoUSA. Music for all ages and all cultures. Relax and enjoy the music. Bring a friend. Bring a chair for listening comfort.

· Concerts on the Rooftop: Unity the Band, Thursday, July 13, 2023: Unity The Band is an original roots reggae group based in Wisconsin. Recently named Wisconsin Area Music Industry’s Artist of the Year, they keep an intense touring schedule around the Midwest, East Coast, West Coast and Hawaii and have honed an interactive outdoor stage show with positive party vibes and a knack for drawing club crowds into the irie groove!

· Adaptive Family Swim Night | Goodman Pool, Friday, July 14, 2023: Join MSCR and Madison Parks as we host a FREE Adapted Family Swim Night! We welcome all individuals with disabilities and their caregivers and families for an evening of water fun at Goodman Pool. Zero-depth entry, aquatic lift, and water wheelchairs are available.

 

· Live at The Glen: A Look Back in History with Tom Martinelli, Friday, July 14, 2023: Live at The Glen featuring Tom Martinelli. Join us on the patio as we learn about the history of The Glen Golf Park with Tom Martinelli, a local historian and neighbor of The Glen. Martinelli will share his passion for the Westmorland neighborhood from prehistoric through the present. If you love history and enjoy storytelling, this event is perfect for you!

· Summer Nights at Segoe, Friday, July 14, 2023: Summer Nights at Segoe concert series will feature live music from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. Enjoy dinner from Churros Blossoms and Thailand in a Truck or cool off with a tasty treat from Kona Ice from 5:30pm - 8:30pm.

 

· Mad Lit: Where Arts and Culture Shine, Friday, July 14, 2023: Mad Lit is a free, outdoor concert series featuring live music and highlighting local musicians, artists, and businesses owners of color. The series runs every other Friday from June through September from 8-11pm at the top of State Street in Madison and includes live music, dance, pop-up shops, and visual exhibits.

 

· Movies with Madison Parks - The Mummy, Saturday, July 15, 2023: Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and enjoy this FREE movie night in Lisa Link Peace Park! Madison’s Central Business Improvement District (BID) in partnership with Madison Parks, proudly presents a free movie in the heart of Downtown Madison!

· Movie at the Glen | Back to the Future, Sunday, July 16, 2023: Grab a blanket or bring a lawn chair and head over to The Glen for yard games and a movie! See and learn about the Wisconsin Time Machine , a screen-accurate Delorean Time Machine replica--just like the movie! All are welcome!

· City Asks For Volunteers to Help with Spongy Moth Outbreak : MADISON, Wis. – The City of Madison Engineering Division welcomes volunteers to help with protecting oak trees on City property, which are showing signs of spongy moth activity and stress.
