The Defensive Tactics Instructor Course will prepare instructor candidates to teach the Defensive and Arrest Tactics (DAAT) basic course in the law enforcement academy and the Principles of Subject Control (POSC) basic course in the jail and secure juvenile detention (SJD) academies. The 96-hour course is split into two (6-day) weeks, with a week off between them. It will be taught by Master Instructor Trainers from the Madison Police Department. This program will cover the full range of instruction including lecture, demonstration, physical technique training, simulation training, and testing procedures.
