COVID-19 Impact on Commercial Properties

We want to better understand the impact of Covid on our commercial tax base. We anticipate the most impacted segments to include hotels, taverns, restaurants, movie theaters, office space, gyms, live entertainment venues, and some retail establishments.

The following information would help us evaluate before we establish 2021 values: 2019 and 2020 operating statements, appraisals (within two years), any current listing for the property, IRS Form 8825 or IRS Schedule E, and STAR reports for hotels.

Property owners seeking an exemption for the current assessment year are required to file a Property Tax Exemption Request by March 1, 2021.
