Join your neighbors and friends this weekend and throughout the summer at the Elver Park Farmers Market.
The Market is the result of the efforts of the Madison West Neighborhood Association and the Prairie Hills Neighborhood Association and will run through Saturday, September 16. Hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. until noon.
Organizers report that the market will expand the availability of foods that are fresh, healthy, nutritious, and affordable to the Madison community, promote the sale of locally grown farm products and contribute to the vitality, health, nutritional and shared values of the Elver Park communities.
It will additionally provide an opportunity for farmers, residents and visitors to the neighborhood to interact directly with each other give growers and producers of local agricultural commodities and other farm-related products direct marketing opportunities and enhance the quality of life in Elver Park by providing an activity that continues to foster community and social interaction.
Throughout the summer, the market will feature live music, science shows, nurse stations, health education stations, nutrition station, tractor/hay rides, boot camp, mounted patrol, Daylily Society of Madison, West Fest and much more! The Madison Urban League will also be at the market to promote work-training opportunities.
A variety of vendors will be featured with products ranging from vegetables, meats, fruit, fruit preserves, soaps, sauces, artwork and greeting cards, eggs, fish flowers and many other items.
