2026 Assessment Notices & Open Book
2026 assessments will be mailed May 1 and available on our website May 2. The 2026 Open Book Period to correct assessment records is May 4 – May 8, 2026. The deadline for filing an appeal is May 15, 2026.
Recent Property Sales
If you recently bought or sold property in the City of Madison, please take a few minutes to complete a survey about the property sale. This helps us make fair and accurate assessments for all property in the City.
Building Energy Savings Program
The City of Madison's Building Energy Savings Program requires large commercial buildings to benchmarking their energy use annually and complete a building tune-up every 4 years. Check the Covered Buildings List to see if your building must comply.
2026 Deadlines:
June 30 – Benchmarking is due for buildings larger than 25,000 square feet.
October 31- Tune-ups are due for buildings larger than 100,000 square feet.
