Exciting News about Odana Hills

posted

Dear Golf Madison Parks Family,

I'm excited to share important news about the future of Odana Hills Golf Course.

The Parks Division is working in partnership with Michael and Jocelyn Keiser, and the Madison Parks Foundation to invest in the long-term future of Odana Hills. This collaboration builds on the success of our previous partnership that helped transform The Glen Golf Park.

That partnership has exceeded expectations, increasing rounds and revenue by more than 40%, expanding non-golf programming, and significantly enhancing natural areas. Most importantly, it strengthened the financial, social, and environmental sustainability of The Glen, while keeping it accessible to the community.

The proposed Odana Hills project would follow a similar model but will be more comprehensive. In addition to golf course improvements, we are coordinating with other City agencies to explore opportunities to address stormwater management, improve bike path connections, and enhance the overall park experience. We are also planning to replace the existing clubhouse, which is currently the lowest quality facility in our system. Parking areas and other site amenities are also in need of modernization.

While a final timeline has not yet been confirmed, this project will need to move forward on an accelerated schedule in order to align partners and funding. If approvals and planning continue as anticipated, construction could begin as early as this fall. An informational presentation will be provided at the Board of Park Commissioners meeting on Wednesday, March 11.

We understand that projects of this scale generate questions, and we are committed to communicating clearly and regularly as plans are finalized. Our goal is to ensure Odana Hills remains a welcoming, accessible and high-quality public golf course that serves the entire community for generations to come.

More details will be shared as they become available, and we appreciate your continued support of Golf Madison Parks. If you have questions or would like to share feedback, we welcome your input.

We're excited about what this means for the future of Odana Hills and for municipal golf in Madison.

See you on the course!
