Madison Golf Events - Two Player Scramble
Event Description
The Two Player Scramble Returns for 2025!
Get ready to tee it up—our ever-popular Two Player Scramble is back for 2025! After a fantastic turnout and enthusiastic feedback over the past few years, we’re excited to once again bring players together for this fun, competitive, and inclusive co-ed event.
This scramble is open to all two-player teams, regardless of gender combination. Whether you're teaming up with a friend, spouse, or fellow club member, it’s all about strategy, teamwork, and enjoying a great day on the course.
Format & Play
The event will be played in a classic scramble format:
- Both players tee off.
- The team selects the best shot.
- Both players then play from that spot.
- Repeat until the ball is holed!
It’s a fun, fast-paced format that welcomes all skill levels and emphasizes collaboration and shot-making.
Gross & Net Divisions
This event features both Gross and Net scoring divisions:
- Players with a valid handicap are eligible to compete in the Net division.
- No handicap? No problem! You’re still welcome to play in the Gross division and experience all the excitement.
Handicap Calculations
To ensure fair play, team handicaps are calculated using the following formula:
- 35% of the A player’s (lower handicap) playing handicap
- 15% of the B player’s (higher handicap) playing handicap
Example:
- Player A has an 8 handicap → 35% = 3 (rounded)
- Player B has a 21 handicap → 15% = 3 (rounded)
- Team Handicap = 6
Tee Assignments
- Men: Blue Tees
- Women: Gold Tees
We also offer an intermediate tee option (White Tees) for greater accessibility:
- Available to any player 60+ years old with a 3.0+ index, or any player with a 15.0+ handicap, regardless of age.
- Note: Choosing to play from the White Tees may result in a reduction of 2 to 4 strokes from your course handicap, in accordance with USGA Handicap Rule 6.1.
