Park Badger Redevelopment
Madison’s Community Development Authority seeks to redevelop the majority of the block at S. Park Street and W. Badger Road. This area is approximately four acres of City-owned property. The City has selected a local team of professionals to engage the community, create a shared master plan, and embark on this redevelopment. The team was selected through a public, competitive proposal process. The main goal is to redevelop this block in a way that supports the community and keeps it affordable.
Community Meetings for Proposed New Designs
In anticipation of beginning the City land use approval process in March 2026, the CDA and The Alexander Company will be sharing updated development plans for S Park Street and W Badger Road, which will include new housing, public health clinic, and fire station.
Public meetings for this project were held virtually on Tuesday, February 17 from on Zoom and in-person on Wednesday, February 18 at Madison College.
The contents of both meetings were the same and included a brief presentation and public input session.

Who is leading the planning efforts?
Madison’s Community Development Authority has selected a strong team of local businesses who are deeply familiar with the south side to lead this planning and redevelopment process. This collaboration is improved by the active involvement of minority- and women-owned business enterprises. They make up 75% of the planning team.
