WINTER RECREATION UPDATE AT GLENWAY

As we end the season of renovations at Glenway and move into the winter, we look for your assistance in helping share our important message with the public. First, we are happy to report that progress on the Glenway renovation is on schedule and shaping up for a great community asset to open in 2022. The extensive work includes completely renovated and newly established greens and tees along with new native plantings of more than 28,000 prairie plugs and acres of dormant seeding. Today and throughout the winter and upcoming spring, the grounds are in a fragile and delicate state. Newly planted turf grasses and prairie planting remain susceptible to damage from winter weather, and more importantly the potential for damage caused by foot traffic and recreation.

Due to the sensitive grounds, and to ensure an on time 2022 re-opening, the Glenway Park grounds are CLOSED to the public. This includes walking, cross-country skiing, sledding and snowshoeing. Staff is working to install signage and fencing onsite, as well as sharing social media and website messaging. We understand this is a popular destination for many during the winter months and hope you will assist us in sharing this message with your community.

We thank you all for your patience, support and interest in the new site and look forward to seeing everyone back enjoying outdoor recreation here in 2022. Please see WINTER FUN for other locations.
