Yahara Hills Golf Course
Conveniently located 1/2 mile east of I-90 (exit 142B), this 36-hole regulation course is spread over 400 acres of rolling hillside. Yahara Hills clubhouse, built in 1967, preceded the opening of the golf course in 1968. It is Madison's largest facility with two 18-hole championship courses and has hosted various national and state tournaments. Both 18-hole courses feature large bunkered greens, well-placed hazards and beautiful water features. A practice area, which includes a 40, 000 square foot putting green and large driving range, is suitable for major competitions and available for those who would like to sharpen their skills.

Meet the Pros
Theran Steindl Golf Operations Supervisor (East)
Theran is the Golf Operations Supervisor for City of Madison East Golf Courses: Yahara Hill and Monona. He is graduate of San Diego Golf Academy in Myrtle Beach, SC where he earned a degree in Business and Facility Management. Theran has worked in the golf business since 2004 at various location and positions. Before working with Golf Madison Parks he worked as the Head Professional at Glen Erin Golf Club and Head Professional / General Manager at Towne Country Club. Theran has been involved with extensive golf instruction from beginner to Division 1 college golfers alike and played competitively for many years. With training in instruction with Natural Golf he is able to help golfers with disabilities and special needs by utilizing their specific strengths to optimize their games. In his off time from golf he enjoys playing competitive hockey and watching his beloved Badgers.
Dan Breunig Assistant Golf Professional, Yahara Hills Golf Course
Dan has recently obtained his Masters in Sport Management from Southern New Hampshire University. He also has a History degree from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh. Growing up in Sun Prairie, Dan played and took lessons at Yahara Hills throughout his junior golf career. Upon graduating from Sun Prairie High School he started working at Yahara Hills as an Assistant Golf Professional in 1997, where he worked for 13 years. After stints at Blackhawk Country Club and The Oaks Golf Course, Dan has returned to Yahara Hills. Dan serves as the Outing and Events Coordinator in 2018. Chris Foraker, PGA Assistant Golf Professional, Yahara Hills Golf Course
Chris has been a PGA Member since 1989 and has spent most of his career managing private clubs and resorts. Originally from Cincinnati Ohio, Chris has spent the last twenty years in Wisconsin where he has spent time at The Springs Golf Club Resort, Eagle Creek Golf Club, Shawano Lakes Country Club and most recently, Hartford Country Club. While at The Springs, Chris coached River Valley High School to a WIAA State Championship, a runner-up, and a third place finish. Chris was also voted SWAL Conference Coach of the Year four times. As a General Manager, Chris was awarded the Wisconsin PGA Merchandiser of the Year Award in 1997. His areas of expertise include daily operations, merchandising, food and beverage as well as event coordinating. Chris also serves as a USGA Rules Official in his off time. Chris looks forward to taking care of your golfing needs at Yahara Hills. In his free time, Chris enjoys spending time with his daughter and her husband. He especially enjoys reading, traveling, and rooting for the Packers, Badgers and Brewers.
Luke Gaffney Assistant Clubhouse Supervisor, Yahara Hills Golf Course
Luke is a Golf Clubhouse Manager at Yahara Hills Golf Course. He grew up in Rockford, IL where he learned the game and competed in tournaments locally and around the state. Following high school, Luke attended the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and received a degree in Hospitality Management. He moved to Madison just over a year ago and is excited to be at Yahara to help grow the game of golf in the city of Madison through junior golf. Luke is also hoping to begin working on the steps to become a PGA Member in the future. In his off time, he is looking forward to playing new courses around town and competing in local tournaments this summer.
