Yahara Hills Golf Course

Conveniently located 1/2 mile east of I-90 (exit 142B), this 36-hole regulation course is spread over 400 acres of rolling hillside. Yahara Hills Golf Course opened in 1967. It is Madison's largest facility with two 18-hole championship courses and has hosted various national and state tournaments. Both 18-hole courses feature large bunkered greens, well-placed hazards and beautiful water features. A practice area, which includes a 40, 000 square foot putting green and large driving range, is suitable for major competitions and available for those who would like to sharpen their skills.

Theran Steindl Madison Parks Head Golf Professional (East)

Theran Steindl

Theran is the Head Golf Professional for City of Madison East Golf Courses: Yahara Hill and Monona. He is graduate of San Diego Golf Academy in Myrtle Beach, SC where he majored in Business and Facility Management. Theran has worked in the golf business for nine years at various location and positions. Most recently as the Head Professional at Glen Erin Golf Club and Head Professional / General Manager at Towne Country Club. Theran has been involved with extensive golf instruction from beginner to Division 1 college golfers alike. With training in instruction with Natural Golf he is able to help golfers with disabilities and special needs by utilizing their specific strengths to optimize their games. Dan Marks

While growing up, Dan lived across the street from Monona Golf Course and began playing golf at the age of 4. By playing there so often, He was offered a job with various cleaning duties and in the golf shop at the course. Dan worked at Monona for the 1996 season and in 1997, he transferred to Yahara Hills where he remains today. In his off time he enjoys playing golf and is an avid bowler during the winter months. Dan enjoys hanging out with his family, especially his son Brodie.

Dan Spear

Dan began playing golf when he was just 3 years old and grew up spending most of his days practicing and playing at a local course in Wausau, WI. He played competitively through his middle and high school years, but decided to focus on a degree in business instead of competing at the collegiate level. After graduating with a degree in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in May 2016, Dan decided he wanted to pursue his passion of golf. Dan is entering into the PGA Professional Golf Management Program this summer and with a goal of becoming a PGA Head Golf Professional. In his free time he enjoys traveling with his friends and family, and watching and playing various sports. Dan is based out of Yahara Hills and is looking forward to teaching and growing the game of golf in the greater Madison area.

We are proud to now have Madison's only public golf simulators!

Just because it's cold outside doesn't mean you have to stop playing! Odana Hills now has two full-swing golf simulators with nearly 40 courses to choose from to play!  The simulators will be open for reservation only Monday through Friday, and open for reservations and walk-in play on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30am to 4:00pm. After 4:00 on the weekends is available by reservation only.
