WEDNESDAY - OPEN HOUSE @ CUNA Mutual Group - Planned Demolition of 5710 Mineral Point Road

Alder Tishler and I will be hosting an informal open house at CUNA Mutual Group - 5810 Mineral Point Road on Wednesday (November 2, 2022) from 5pm-6:30pm. CUNA Mutual Group will share plans for the next steps related to their corporate headquarters. They recently completed construction of a four-story building and have applied for a permit to demolish an existing building on the east side of campus to transform the area into green space. There will be a brief presentation and opportunities to ask questions and tour the new building. We hope to see you there.

Finance Committee to Consider 2023 Operating Budget Amendments on Monday, Oct. 31

The city's budget for 2023 will be debated and adopted by the Common Council in November. An important step in the budget process will occur on Monday, Oct. 31, at the Finance Committee meeting when committee members will consider amendments to the 2023 Executive Operating Budget that have been put forth by alders. You can find all of the 23 proposed amendments here. As you'll see they range from minor to substantial changes.

If you can't make it, you can also watch the recorded meeting later on City Channel at your convenience. This week, I expect to post my annual summary of the process with detailed information on the budget and links to previous and upcoming steps.

On Nov. 15, 16, and possibly Nov. 17, the Common Council will consider the 2023 Executive Operating Budget and Capital Budget, as amended by the Finance Committee. Alders will also have the opportunity to submit amendments to both budgets, so there will likely be additional amendments coming beyond those that the Finance Committee considers.

The Common Council will meet in hybrid format at 6:30pm on Tuesday, November 1.
