The City of Madison Beaches Hours Change beginning Thursday, August 16

Lifeguard services hours at the four major beaches, Olbrich Park, Vilas Park, BB Clarke and Tenney Park, will be changed to 11a.m.-6p.m. Annually, the Parks Division reduces the beach lifeguard hours by one hour due to the earlier sunset. Lifeguard services will end for these 4 major beaches on Monday, September 3. Lifeguard services will end a week earlier for the smaller beaches on Sunday August 26. Bernie's Beach, Esther Beach, James Madison Park, Olin Park, Spring Harbor Park and Warner Park Beach hours will be daily from 12:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Conditions of the beaches change often. The Health Department monitors the weekly condition and bacteria count at the beaches. Check the website for weekly beach conditions. http://www.ci.madison.wi.us/beaches.
