The City of Madison today unveiled a new winter web portal that will serve as a one stop destination for residents seeking the latest information on winter parking rules and snow plowing operations. "The new winter web page has been completely redesigned to be more user friendly and informative," Streets Division spokesperson George Dreckmann said. "Residents will find all of the information they need to avoid a parking ticket this winter." The new web page can be found at www.cityofmadison.com/winter. Once you get to the page residents will find a new winter parking calculator that will allow them to enter the date they will be parking and get the correct side of the street on which to park. You can also get connected to the City of Madison's Facebook page. "On the new web site residents can sign up to receive snow emergency e-mails, text messages, and new this year Tweets on Twitter," Dreckmann said. "You can also sign up for Snow Plow Updates that will give you the latest information on how the Streets Division is handling plowing operations." In addition to information on winter parking and snow removal operations, the new winter web page has lots of information on fun things to do during Madison's winter. You'll find up to date information on sledding, cross country skiing and ice skating. The site also features updates on activities at Olbrich Gardens, Monona Terrace, and the Madison Senior Center. "We have also included information on safe winter driving and biking, snow shoveling requirements, and our mailbox replacement policy," Dreckmann concluded.
