Mayor Names Mark Woulf Alcohol Policy Coordinator

Mayor Dave Cieslewicz today named Mark Woulf as the city's Alcohol Policy Coordinator. The Alcohol Policy Coordinator position is jointly funded by the City of Madison and the University of Wisconsin-Madison to proactively address alcohol-related issues on campus and in the community. A UW graduate, Woulf currently serves on the Alcohol License Review Committee (ALRC). "Alcohol-related issues play a major role in public safety, neighborhood quality and other significant community concerns," said Mayor Dave Cieslewicz. "Mark has the experience and knowhow to work together with university leaders, students, neighborhood groups, bar owners and other stakeholders on these important issues." "I am excited and thankful for the opportunity to serve the city of Madison and I am humbled by the selection," Woulf said. "I look forward to working with the many stakeholders in alcohol policy and will work to bring a voice that will continue to improve our process and add to our community as a whole." As a student, Woulf served on the University's Alcohol and other Drug Task Force, working with campus stakeholders to develop policy recommendations on alcohol and drug issues. Woulf was also Associated Students of Madison's representative on the ALRC. Since last January, he has served as a voting member of the ALRC. Woulf graduated from UW Madison with a degree in political science and sociology. He will start on Monday, January 10.
