Mayor Soglin is Walking Willy Every Week
Madison Mayor Paul Soglin is joining with Williamson Street business owners and residents in reminding Madisonians that in spite of the road construction underway this summer, the street is open for business. "My wife Sara and I have committed ourselves to shopping or dining at Willy Street businesses at least once a week," said Soglin. "So far, it's been great and we look forward to continuing. It's a wonderful way to get to know the neighborhood even better and to support the independent businesses on the street who are feeling the effects of the construction. We are looking forward to every visit. My Willy Street tip is, if you are looking for parking; don't forget the North side of East Wilson." Mayor Soglin is also part of Wednesday Willy Walk on July 6th. He will be joined by a group of supporters of Willy Street and will be walking from Paterson to Dickinson on Willy Street. A number of stores and restaurants are offering special discounts to customers that day. For more information on activities and events on Willy Street this summer check out http://willylives.com/.
