Lands' End Volunteers to Help Clean Up Madison Parks

Lands' End, is partnering with the City of Madison Parks and the Clean Lakes Alliance, a local non-profit organization dedicated to improving water quality in the Yahara Watershed, on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 10 a.m. to clean up Madison area shorelines and beaches. Lands' End will supply hundreds of volunteers to pick up trash, remove invasive species and weeds, and clean up beaches. This volunteer effort is in conjunction with the Clean Lakes Festival which takes place on August 27, 2011. "Madison Parks is appreciative of Lands' End's commitment to land stewardship, clean lakes, and park beautification. We are grateful for their employee's dedication and time to partner with us in these efforts," said Parks Superintendant Kevin Briski. "Lands' End is committed to partnering with the Clean Lakes Alliance and the City of Madison Parks to make a difference by joining the community in the "Take a Stake in the Lakes" event," said Randy Peterson, Lands' End vice president of engineering and sustainability. "Our employees, along with family and friends all have a vested interest in restoring and protecting our local lakes and rivers throughout southern Wisconsin." The City of Madison Parks Division manages 260 parks and 6,000 acres of land.
