Please join Ald. Tim Bruer and representatives from Madison Sister Cities as they unveil the Madison Sister City Banners along S. Park Street. On July 6, 2010 the Common Council approved a resolution creating the "Park Street Streetscape Improvement Project". Park Street has long served as an auto-oriented commercial district and a major arterial street that provides a direct connection between the UW Campus and Downtown Madison from the Beltline Highway. One of the design recommendations was to incorporate banners to create an identity for the street and express it international character. On Thursday, July 28th join Tim Bruer, District 14 Alder, and representatives from Madison's Sister City organizations as they unveil the Madison Sister City Banners along on South Park Street. This banner program was a collaborative effort between the neighborhood residents, businesses, and the City of Madison with the goal of beautifying and uniting the residents in South Madison.
