Lynndale Rd. Home is a Total Loss

posted

City of Madison fire investigators say the weekend house fire at 1822 Lynndale Rd. has resulted in a total loss. The house was valued at $157,000. Firefighters responded to the fire on Madison's west side at 3:29 a.m. Sunday morning. The fire had apparently been burning for some time before a neighbor noticed and called 911. When crews arrived, they found the fire had burned through the floor in one room and a portion of the hallway. Firefighters conducted a primary search and found no one inside. The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes of arrival, but downed electrical wires required a suspension of some firefighting operations until Madison Gas and Electric could cut power to the home's electrical system and clear the downed wires. City of Madison Police officers were on scene assisting in the location of the home's occupants. Neighbors say the family moved in earlier this summer. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
