
Community Bicycle Ride
Public Invited To Sunday Event
The Madison Police Department will partner with the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin for a community ride this Sunday afternoon. MPD bike patrol officers will provide safe biking tips, and help lead a ride along one of Madison's scenic paths. The following is a news release from the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin: Discover how easy and quick bicycling from downtown to Hilldale Mall can be! Ever wonder how to get from Downtown and UW Campus to Hilldale Mall? It's much easier than you think and it's bike path almost all of the way! The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin and the Madison Police Department have teamed up to show how safe and easy bicycling is in Madison. Please join us for a free 1-hour Share & Be Aware bicycling safety tips presentation followed by a slow, safe, and easy neighborhood ride led by Madison Police officers. This is a great opportunity for those who are interested in biking more but have questions or concerns. You'll learn how easy it is to travel by bike! • Sunday, September 18 • 1:00 - 2:00pm: Share & Be Aware Bicycling Safety Tips presentation, Memorial Union, bike parking is available in multiple locations at the Union • 2:00 - 4:00pm: Slow bike ride on some of Madison's best bike paths to Hilldale Mall, meet outside of Memorial Union at the corner of Langdon and Park St. Once we arrive at Hilldale, Metcalfe's will offer all participants a tasty treat during a quick rest stop.
