Online survey seeks to improve water quality programs in the county

Even in the middle of winter, there are plenty of ways for Madison residents to show their love for the lakes, including taking a short online survey to help protect and improve local water quality.

The survey, sponsored by the Madison Area Municipal Storm Water Partnership, is available at to http://tinyurl.com/pbdzj9lFeedback is being sought now through Friday, January 31.

The Madison Area Municipal Storm Water Partnership is the united efforts of local municipalities, Dane County and the University of Wisconsin – Madison, working to reduce the negative impacts of urban sources of storm water runoff in our lakes and streams.  The group is working with the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Survey Research Center to conduct a survey to learn more about residents’ views on the health of our lakes and streams.

Your participation is very important and will assist local efforts to improve area lakes and streams.  Answers are anonymous.

Information about the Madison Area Municipal Storm Water Partnership is available on the Internet at www.myfairlakes.com.  Check it out for ideas on how you can protect and promote the lakes and streams year around – including using less salt to de-ice sidewalks and driveways in the winter, to planting a rain garden or installing a rain barrel at your home in the warmer months.
