Mayor Rhodes-Conway to Celebrate Infrastructure Week May 13-20

posted

Mayor Rhodes-Conway will be observing Infrastructure Week next week with visits and tours of
two City sites, one highlighting water utility and sanitary sewers and one highlighting Madison
Metro bus service. The media is invited to join her at both events.

On Monday, May 13 she will meet with Water Utility and City Engineering staff at a
construction site at the intersection of Hillside Drive and North Blackhawk Avenue on
Madison’s west side at 10:00 a.m. (To arrive at the intersection use Midvale Road to Regent
Street, then a left on Owen. Park on Hillside Terrace or Owen Dr.) She will meet with City staff
and review the reconstruction of not only the streets, but also the water and sanitary sewer.

On Thursday, May 16 she will tour the Madison Metro Bus facility at 1245 East Washington
Avenue at 9:00 a.m. She will again meet with staff, learn more about the solar PV project planned
for the facility this year, hear more about the E-buses the City will add to its fleet and tour the
building to see the renovation underway to make the building more energy efficient and able to
accommodate our new E-buses.

Mayor Rhodes-Conway is joining community leaders across the country to help educate the public
on the importance of sound, energy efficient infrastructure and to advocate for additional federal
funding for these infrastructure needs.
