City of Madison Honored with Growth Award from the Arbor Day Foundation

posted

The City of Madison has been recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree City USA and we received a Growth Award.

Madison has been a Tree City USA for 33 years, and we have received the Growth Award for 17 years.

Per the Arbor Day Foundation, Madison has “demonstrated an outstanding commitment to sustainable urban forest management.”

“We’re honored to receive this recognition and award from the Arbor Day Foundation,” says Craig Klinke, interim City of Madison Forester. “We remain committed to creating a vibrant and diverse urban forest with a goal of 40% canopy coverage. I would like to thank our professional arborists who are doing the hard work in keeping our forest healthy, and also say thank you our residents for their continued care for our trees.”
