posted

The Parks Division is happy to announce that it has reopened the skating rink at Tenney Park for general skating ONLY. The hockey rink area is not safe at this time. The small rink and hockey rink at Vilas Park have been reopened but NOT the large lagoon. The skating rink at Elver is open but the ice is rough. Skate rentals are also available. Costs for the first hour for adults is $6.00 and each additional hour is $2.00. Rental for children 14 and under for the first hour is $3.00 and for each additional hour is $1.00. The warming shelters will be open from 2:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. or close sooner if the last patrons leave. The trails at Elver and Odana are open for skate skiing. The crew is grooming the recent snow that occurred over the weekend. There is insufficient snow to set track at any of our venues. Thank you for continuing to bear with us as we continue to overcome the many obstacles that Nature has given us this winter season. The public may call 266-4711 for more information or log on to our website at www.cityofmadison.com/parks. Please listen to your local radio and/or TV station for the latest conditions.
